“Don’t you think you should get him checked again? As a responsible parent it seems like a long time to wait in between appointments.” I thought I saw her wink at Rosalie, who snorted into her mojito. I was confused.
“Well, sure, I suppose so. I’ll call around tomorrow and try to find a pediatrician.”
“No! No, don’t do that,” Alice said as she flagged down our waiter. “I work in a hospital, darling. Let me do it for you.”
“Thanks, Alice,” I said gratefully. “It’s a nightmare trying to find a good pediatrician.”
“Lucky for you, I know a great one,” she said with a Cheshire Cat grin, and I wondered what she was up to.
